Position Description
The Greater Chicago Food Depository seeks to hire a candidate who will be responsible for operating a commercial motor vehicle to pick up and deliver products donated to the Food Depository. The CDL A Truck Driver will be responsible preparing and maintaining accurate and complete records of all pickup and delivery transactions. The position will also operate manual and electric pallet jacks and counter-balance forklift equipment to load and off-load freight/products, evaluates the sustainability of donated products, maintains cleanliness of assigned motor vehicles, and ensures that all pre-trip vehicle maintenance and safety checklists are completed daily, as well as, maintaining and being accountable for all assigned Food Depository equipment. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED equivalent and a valid State of Illinois driver’s license with CDL A and a minimum of one year driving experience with a clean driving record (MVR). The ability to obtain a Food Handling and Sanitation Certificate is required. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal communication skills, an attention to detail, as well as, a professional demeanor.
