REGISTRY - Inpatient positions

Purpose:

  • The InHouse registry is designed to supplement the regular nursing staff during periods of increased patient census, increased acuity and vacant FTE’s.

Goal:

  • To ensure continued quality care to our patients by providing nurses who are familiar with the philosophy of nursing at La Rabida, the nursing policies and procedures, and are committed to providing quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize and deliver direct and indirect nursing care to children and adolescents with chronic illnesses and disabilities.

  • Utilize evaluative judgment, specialized knowledge and professional level nursing skills in this process and incorporate a family centered approach.

  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of professionals who work daily to help raise possibilities for our patients.

  • Focus on developing skills to guide him/her over a continuum of basic patient care through more complex assignments, assessing the needs of acute and chronically ill children using effective communication with patients/families and team members.

  • Uses the nursing process in a family-centered interdisciplinary context to coordinate care and achieve team goals.

Registry Rates of Pay:

Level I Level II

WEEKDAYS WEEKENDS WEEKDAYS WEEKENDS

Days $38.00 $40.00 $41.00 $43.00

Nights $41.50 $43.50 $44.50 $46.50

Level 1 - Must work a minimum of two (2) shifts per four-week scheduling period, one (1) of which must be a weekend shift. Failure to do so may result in being dropped from the Inhouse Registry roster.


Level 2 -
Must work a minimum of four (4) shifts per four-week scheduling period, two (2) of which must be weekend shifts. Failure to do so will result in being dropped to a Level I.


Must commit to working two holidays per year, one spring/summer and one fall/winter. A shift worked the day before or after a holiday may count as a holiday, if the need arises.

Short-Notice Rates (less than 24 hours prior to start of shift): An additional $7.50 per hour to the above rates.

Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required
  • Licensed to practice professional nursing in the State of Illinois required
  • CPR and PALS Certification required.
  • Pediatric experience highly desired
