Overview

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio (RMHC) is seeking a motivated, self-driven team player to fill our full-time Development Associate position. This position is an integral part of the fundraising team and is responsible for soliciting, and securing annual gifts and implementing a comprehensive donor stewardship plan to increase donor retention. In addition, this position is responsible for managing data entry, gift processing, acknowledgements, as well as supporting other activities of the fundraising team. This position works closely with the board, donors, and volunteers to develop the funding and awareness necessary to sustain programs at RMHC.

The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational, communication and time-management skills. Ability to establish and monitor priorities, maintain flexibility and meet deadlines. S/he will be able to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a professional manner. S/he is an effective relationship builder and energetic team player willing to contribute. S/he is results driven and can work successfully in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

o Plan, design and implement multiple direct mail and electronic appeals.

o Design donor-impact pieces annually, with a degree of customization and emotional appeal.

o Develop short and long-term strategies for current annual giving donors.

o Implement stewardship plan to thank Annual Giving donors including handwritten thank you notes, phone calls, and other strategies.

o Connect with lapsed Annual Giving donors to re-engage their support of RMHC.

o Manage the daily operation of the development database (Raiser's Edge) including but not limited to:

* Enter all new gifts, pledges, and pledge payments into the database.

* Produce and mail gift acknowledgement/tax receipt letters for all contributions in a timely manner.

* Process matching gift forms.

* Generate weekly, monthly, and end of the year gift reports.

* Create automated templates for thank you notes.

* Generate pledge reminders to support collection efforts.

* Continually update and correct database records.

o Manage and implement a comprehensive stewardship strategy, ensuring donors experience high-quality interactions that foster long-term engagement.

o Provide the highest level of responsiveness and customer service to partners and donors.

o Write donor recognition pieces and other materials as needed.

o Work inter-departmentally to achieve the best outcomes for our mission and programs.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's Degree (required)

Experience in Microsoft Office

Experience with Raiser's Edge software (preferred, not required)

Ability to work evenings and weekends as necessary
