Applicants for this position must have a passion for beer along with superior customer service skills to drive sales. Previous retail experience, experience in the beer, wine and spirits, or hospitality industry is preferred. Candidates with entry level knowledge may also be considered.

Responsibilities:

• Assists in developing sales and provides prompt, friendly assistance to customers.
• Continues to develop knowledge of beer and other store products to better serve the customers.
• Works as part of a team to keep the beer department and store organized, effectively merchandised, and safe; this includes moving, stocking, staging and display building, and porter duties.
• Performs cash register operations as needed; ability to count cash and make change accurately.
• Maintains the check-out, shopping cart and box storage areas.
• Follows proper age verification policies.
• Consistent and regular attendance.
• May be required to assist in other departments.
• Performs all duties of a Store Associate as directed by Supervisors.

Qualifications:

• Must be 21 years of age.
• Candidate will have good working knowledge of craft beer, commodity brand beer, import beer and beer styles.
• Candidate will be able to taste beer in a professional manner as allowed for educational purposes.
• Ability to pass any applicable alcohol training class and maintain a current certification card.
• Ability to repeatedly lift 40-50 pounds.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to operate business machines (scanners, computer keyboards, etc.).
• Ability to effectively communicate with customers and staff.
• Ability to work in cold areas.
• Ability to stand and/or walk up and down stairs.
• Ability to count cash and make change accurately.
• Ability to write legibly.
• Ability to read small type.

**Part-time and Full-time positions available.

**Hourly pay rate for this position is $16.25 - $18.00+ based on experience and availability.
