Job Description

Job Summary:

The Social Media Specialist will be responsible for supporting and executing our social media strategy across various channels to enhance our employer brand, support campaigns, and our recruiting efforts. The ideal candidate will have a passion for storytelling, a deep understanding of social media platforms, and the ability to use analytics to drive engagement and attract top talent.

Job Duties:

  • Participates in and provides recommendations on strategy development, implementation, and ongoing management of our social media campaigns and programs. This includes identifying target audiences, selecting appropriate platforms, and setting clear objectives.
  • Supports content creation for social media programs and campaigns that is on brand, shareable and appropriate for the digital presence
  • Independently creates and posts on BDO social media platforms and monitors corporate channels for accuracy, engagement and crisis management
  • Assists in sourcing third party content including industry-related content in addition to leveraging existing BDO developed content
  • Supports the firm's employee advocacy program, including content sourcing and publishing, community management and reporting
  • Analyzes social media data to help identify patterns and trends for recommendations for improvement
  • Coordinates social media creative for social media programs and campaigns
  • Monitors relevant social discussions about our firm, competitors and/or industry through social media listening tools
  • Contributes to social media analytics and reporting
  • Ensures online marketing and communications reflect the BDO brand and Firm's messages, positioning, and visual identity
  • Supports and participates in social media training for marketing and BDO professionals (Client Service, BD, Recruiting, etc.)
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree, required; with a focus in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, or Business Administration, preferred

Experience:

  • Two (2) or more years of social media experience, required
  • Knowledge and experience with social media platforms, including, but not limited to, LinkedIn, Facebook, X, YouTube, and Instagram, required
  • Experience working within a professional services environment (i.e., accounting, financial consulting, business advisory services and/or banking industries), preferred

Software:

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, required
  • Experience with social media management and reporting tools (i.e. Buffer, Hootsuite, Sprout Social), required
  • Experience with Google Analytics, preferred
  • Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, HTML, preferred

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent project management skills and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven and highly visible environment while handling multiple projects simultaneously and managing process and service providers (internal and external) to accomplish desired results
  • Ability to be creative while maintaining BDO's voice in social media content in a regulated industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills with specific experience writing for online media
  • Strong interpersonal and client service skills, and consultative approach to working with marketing and client service professionals at all levels
  • Driven self-starter with a proactive approach to serving professionals at all levels in a client-oriented, matrixed environment
  • Knowledge of B2B marketing strategies and tactics and their application in a professional services organization

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.


National Range: $55,000 - $65,000
California Range: $55,000 - $65,000
Colorado Range: $55,000 - $65,000
NYC/ Long Island/Westchester Range: $55,000 - $65,000
