Job Description

Printpack in Elgin, is looking for a qualified candidate for the Maintenance Electrician position. This position will provide electronic/electrical/mechanical support to the plant and maintain plant equipment and machinery. Qualified candidates must have 1 - 3 years previous manufacturing experience, must be able to read from schematics and vendor data, and perform preventative maintenance. Must have solid computer knowledge and skills. An electronics certification is also highly recommended. This is a 3rd Shift (11pm-7am) opening.

Additional $2.50/hr premium for NIGHT Shift only between the hours of 7pm-7am. Any hours worked outside of 7pm-7am will not receive the premium.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Electrical/Electronics Repairs:

  • Previous experience in troubleshooting, repairing, minor programming, and maintaining PLCs

  • Previous experience and strong skills in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining machine drive systems (specifically Allen-Bradley, SSD/Eurotherm, Magnetek, and Siemens)

  • Previous experience and strong skills in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining oven controls such as PID loops and thermocouples (RTD, J, K)

  • Previous experience and strong skills in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining 3-phase electrical system, motors, breakers, starters, and overloads

Electrical Basic Knowledge:

  • Experienced with conduit and wire sizing

  • Ability to use Digtial Multi Meter, AmpProbe, Manometer

  • Ability to work with basic semi-conductors

  • Ability to properly operate oscilloscopes

General Knowledge:

  • Ability to work with PCs

  • Use of internet to identify parts, equipment

  • Use of software for communication

  • Use of reporting and inventory software

  • Physical ability to maneuver in confined areas

  • Physical ability to lift 40 to 70 lbs.
