Job Title: IoT Engineer - Manufacturing Execution System (MES)

Position Overview: As an IoT Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in revolutionizing our manufacturing processes by implementing IoT solutions. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying IoT systems that enhance the performance, efficiency, and reliability of our products. Working closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, production, and quality assurance, you will lead the integration of IoT technologies to optimize operations and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

IoT Solution Design: Design end-to-end IoT solutions tailored to the specific needs of manufacturing electric grid components, considering factors such as data collection, connectivity, analytics, and security.

Sensor Integration: Select and integrate sensors and actuators into manufacturing equipment to collect real-time data on performance, quality, and environmental conditions.

Data Management: Develop data acquisition systems and protocols to collect, store, and analyze large volumes of IoT-generated data, ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility.

Analytics and Insights: Utilize data analytics tools and techniques to derive actionable insights from IoT data, enabling predictive maintenance, process optimization, and quality control.

IoT Platform Development: Collaborate with software engineers to develop custom IoT platforms and applications tailored to the needs of manufacturing operations, including dashboards, visualization tools, and reporting mechanisms.

Integration with ERP/MES Systems: Integrate IoT systems with existing enterprise resource planning (ERP) and manufacturing execution systems (MES) to streamline data exchange and enable seamless production workflows.

Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to continuously improve IoT systems and processes, leveraging feedback from stakeholders and monitoring industry trends and best practices.

Compliance and Standards: Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and cybersecurity requirements in the design and implementation of IoT solutions.

Documentation and Training: Create technical documentation, user manuals, and training materials to support the deployment and maintenance of IoT systems, ensuring knowledge transfer and skill development across the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing IoT solutions, preferably in a manufacturing or energy-related industry.
  • Proficiency in IoT technologies, protocols, and standards (e.g., MQTT, OPC UA, Modbus), as well as cloud platforms (e.g., Azure) and edge computing.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, C/C++, Java, or JavaScript.
  • Experience with sensor integration, data acquisition systems, and industrial communication protocols.
  • Knowledge of data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Power BI) for extracting insights from IoT data.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and best practices for securing IoT systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and drive solutions to completion.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
