JOB TITLE: Robotic Bending Specialist (PRESS BRAKE)

REPORTS TO: National Press Brake Product Manager, Sales

SUMMARY: Primary purpose of this position will provide technical information/support to sales staff, and customers for robotic bending applications. Will analyze customers' machine and tooling requirements based on information provided by Sales personnel or directly from customers to assist in feasibility of robotic bending application, appropriate features & cell components are utilized with a properly sized press brake. They will demonstrate MMS equipment/software during customer visits/open house/tradeshows/demos and elaborate on their features/benefits. Support service & applications with application questions or assistance with customer application questions or training as needed. Will assist Product manager & bending specialists gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements from sales staff, customers, service, and competition for the product vision and implementation for existing and future projects. Will assist in training application, service and sales staff regarding robotic cell applications & assist in presentations for robotic offering.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following but are not limited to the job specifications contained herein. Additional duties or job functions that can be performed safely may be required as deemed necessary by management.

  • Act as point of reference for product related inquiries for sales team. Work collaboratively with colleagues to research and address any issues that may arise in product lines with product manager.
  • Support sales and marketing with the necessary product knowledge and technical expertise. Develop sales tools and product documentation with product manager and sales management for inside and outside sales force. Conduct technical product presentations for existing or future product lines for sales and service teams as well as customers.
  • Assist product manager in reviewing & creating product data (presentations, sales tools, etc.) to ensure that the sales, service, applications teams are kept up to date on existing machinery & new developments for all product lines.
  • Maintain knowledge of product market trends, developments and monitor industry best practices to assist sales management & product manager to implement product strategies to improving customer satisfaction & market positioning.
  • Research and analyze market conditions to identify key competitor/consumer trends for development
  • Evaluate customer's machine and tooling requirements based on information provided by Sale personnel for robotic bending applications.
  • Assist customers is selecting appropriate robot, cell components, EOAT (End of Arm Tool), and Press Brake for customers applications based on supplied drawings.
  • Analyze market conditions with sales management & product manager to identify key competitor/consumer trends for development into company product offerings, opportunities, product innovations, and enhancements on existing future robotic forming product lines while comparing competitor offerings in the market.
  • Operate and demonstrate capabilities of MMS equipment to customers during demos/open house/tradeshows as needed.
  • Generate software and machine time studies, summaries, and reports on methods used in fabrication of demo or customer parts if needed in robotic applications and to assist in developing sales tools for sales staff in promoting product offering.
  • Demonstrate MMS sheet metal software to customers and benefits.
  • Support showroom activities including machine demonstrations, process development, feasibility studies, time studies, and overall presentation.
  • Successfully perform responsibilities & be able to multi-task in a fast-paced changing customer driven environment.
  • Professional presentation of project or process data to both customers and management.
  • Build successful relationships with laser/press brake distributors and sales staff.
  • Work with sales, applications, and product managers to develop technical documentation and market requirements for robotic offline programming software & robotic forming product lines. Create reports with product management & bending specialist for reporting trends & new competitor product development to the factory.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, REQUIRMENTS:

  • 3 years + experience in the industry, or equivalent
  • Previous applications or related experience
  • Technical background with experience in Press Brakes
  • Technical background with experience in Robotics (Specifically Robotic Forming)
  • Travel required (Passport required) short or no notice of travel plans may occur
  • PC familiarity with CAD/CAM software
  • Must be proficient in reading blueprints for cell layout with building constraints for robotic automation layouts

In addition to the above requirements, a strong understanding of the fabrication industry and general machine shop operations is preferred. As a Robotic Bending Specialist, you are a team player, good communicator but at the same time also possess strong analytical skills, capability to understand customer's needs & overall goal for the product in order to communicate to our customers the best solution.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Ability to work independently and use judgment to determine product problems without direct supervision.
  • Ability to interact with customers in a way so as to maintain customer confidence in MC Machinery and MC Machinery product.
  • Ability to identify opportunities to sell customers additional MC Machinery products and to sell product in such opportunities.
  • Considerable knowledge and the ability to apply the principles and practices to the functionality of PRESSBRAKE's & ROBOTIC AUTOMATION sold by MC Machinery Systems.
  • Knowledge of traditional Press brake & Robotic bending techniques, programming, controller functions, and troubleshooting techniques, as well as ability to train technicians /customers/sales team on proper usage of such techniques.
  • Ability to independently diagnose and treat a variety of problems or situations and modify as deemed necessary.
  • Knowledge and ability to apply industry standards that may not be completely applicable to the work and may require adaptation, modification or deviation.
  • Ability to effectively document and communicate ideas, strategies, problems, and solutions in both verbal and written forms to co-workers and customers.
  • Ability to prepare written reports and other necessary supportive documentation.
  • Ability to travel to various customer locations or factories as necessary.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the principles and practices of PRESSBRAKE engineering.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of principles and practices of 6 axis robots engineering and there use in robotic forming applications.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of dedication, accountability and outstanding work ethic.
  • Good communication skills, ability to work in a high-pressure environment, analytical ability, interpersonal skills, detail oriented, strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Willingness to work odd hours which may include some weekends based on distributor and customer driven demands.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs. for heavy material, press brake tooling, or Robotic EOAT (End of Arm Tooling).
  • Willingness to research competitor offerings for analysis and comparison to existing or future product lines

WORKING CONDITIONS:

A small portion of work is performed in a normal office environment, where the noise level is quiet to moderate. A large portion of work is performed in a showroom; warehouse or shop environment. The noise level may be high in warehouses and shop environments due to the use of various types of equipment. Customer locations may not be climate controlled; temperature will vary on customer visits.

Hazards: It is possible that the individual will experience exposure to various climatic conditions and possible injury when working around machinery and electrical equipment. The hazards may include exposure to fumes, vapors, grease, oil, gases, molten metal etc. All safety requirements must be followed carefully.
