We are looking to fill one (1) early career geologist/hydrogeologist position with 3 to 5 years of experience to serve out of our Fort Myers office. Candidates will assist senior staff with development of testing plans, well drilling, aquifer/well performance tests, instrumentation, data acquisition and analysis, report preparation, water resource permitting, and infrastructure design. Experience with underground injection wells is a must. Candidates will direct contractors during hydrogeologic explorations and testing programs. Candidates must be capable of understanding technical aspects of hydrogeologic projects and execute projects to meet technical, quality, scheduling requirements, and project management. The successful candidates will need to demonstrate strong verbal communication and written skills. A Florida Geologist in Training (GIT) certificate is required with potential to obtain a license to practice geology within one year of employment.

Qualifications: With 3 to 5 years experience, the successful candidates will have a minimum of a Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Geology. Preferred candidates will have experience in:

  • Experience with underground injection control (UIC) wells a must.
  • Knowledge of geologic concepts including sedimentology, stratigraphy, karst systems, aquifer testing, geochemistry, groundwater and surface water monitoring.
  • Knowledge of the geologic, hydrologic, and soil classification systems.
  • Knowledge of the principles and standards of scientific study, field investigation and sampling, experimentation, research, and documentation.
  • Familiarity with applicable rules of the FDEP and WMD's for water resource development and wastewater disposal systems.
  • Understanding of project objectives, schedules, critical deadlines and budgets.
  • Ability to work with contractors, clients, and a diverse team of project delivery experts.
  • Strong problem-solving skills; organized and reliable. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Technical writing experience.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 40 lbs. without assistance and working outdoors in Florida weather conditions.
  • Must pass drug test, physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving policy.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Technical report writing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under the supervision of a project manager;
  • Proficiency in the following software: Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), ArcGIS, AQTESOLV, Groundwater Vistas, and/or other similar types of technical, hydrogeologic, engineering and water resource assessment and management related software.

Work Schedule: Full-time position, Monday through Friday. Some weekends may be required.
