Position: Pre-Press Assistant
Location: Elk Grove, IL
Starting Wage: $23.13
Multiple Shifts Available: 8am to 4pm or 4pm to 12am.

While reporting to the Shift Manager, you will be responsible for Operation of Solvent Recovery Unit. Excellent attendance is crucial for the team to achieve success. You must have a proven record of success in a fast-paced environment. You must have the ability to work with solvents, etc. You will take pride in your personal hands-on and, organizational skills and attention to detail.
Day to day responsibilities include:
- Pull out empty ink drums, changing solvent filters.
- Assist Ink techs as needed.
- Stripping of plates.
- Prepare hazardous waste for shipments weekly.
- Operation of Press Anilox Cleaning Unit.
- Inspection of Press Anilox Rollers.
- Performing all duties as designated by supervisor/manager.
- Performing all duties in support of Sonoco's quality and safety policies.
This position is in our Flexibles plant in beautiful Elk Grove Village, IL. We are producing Flexible packaging for the food industry.

- You have to have a "get it done" attitude and an urgency to resolve problems/tasks.
- To succeed in this role, you will need good written and verbal communication skills
- Working independently and managing multiple tasks simultaneously is needed.
- You will need to be able to lift up to 25 lbs. as needed.
- Having the ability to effectively work with a team in a fast-paced environment is crucial to success.
- You will need to have the ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions.
- You will need to able to perform repetitious duties, including stairs and standing for long periods of time.
