JOB SUMMARY: The Agile Program Manager acts as a servant leader and coach for an Agile Release Train (ART) and applies Lean-Agile thinking to optimizing the execution of an ART at the program level. Focuses on predictable, quality delivery and driving continuous improvement through facilitating ART events including program increment planning, system demo and inspect and adapt. Holds a key role in the successful delivery of end-to-end value through the ART by eliminating impediments, managing risks, implementing best practices and driving relentless improvement. Collaborates with key stakeholders and customers to assist in managing, informing and influencing outcomes, with the support of other RTEs, as needed.
JOB ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Work with Product Owner and Domain Architects to create a prioritized Product/Program Backlog for all development work related to the Product.
2. Monitor the health/readiness of the Product/Program Backlog and ensure proper balance of demand/capacity, strategic investments, and other Program guardrails
3. Facilitate PI Planning, PI Execution and ensure ART delivers against PI objectives
4. Measure and report on ART delivery, maturity, and performance and review the metrics with the ART to identify improvement opportunities.
5. Assist with the implementation of IT best practices and process improvements
6. Lead and manage a group of Scrum Masters. You are dedicated to helping them grow and develop in their knowledge area and ensure alignment to standards and best practices.
7. Select, develop, and evaluate staff to ensure high performance, continuous improvement, professional development and succession planning.
8. Enable an agile organization by demonstrating an agile mindset and fostering an environment conducive to agile.
9. Participates in the Agile Program Community of Practice sharing ideas, observations and opportunities for improvement
10. Assist with release planning and deployment activities, as needed
