Position Description

We're looking for a Vice President of Finance & Group Controller to join our Day & Zimmermann Munitions Plants team. As Vice President, you will function as a strategic business partner to the President for all FP&A activities The Vice President will provide leadership and coordination for the implementation and execution of organization-wide projects related to risk mitigation, financial and government contracting compliance and financial success. Additionally, you will be responsible for designing strategies, methodologies, and programs to support the business and to identify opportunities to increase profit margin/return on investment.

As the Vice President of Finance and Group Controller, here's the work you'll do:
  • Provides leadership and strategic direction in support of the Group's Financial, Planning & Analysis activities.
  • Defines appropriate group financial strategies and identifies programs to optimize business results.
  • Maintains direct oversight of the periodic, quarterly, and year-end consolidation and closing processes across the Group, including corporate reporting and consolidations according to corporate policy and GAAP.
  • Provides direct financial guidance and support to the Group's Executive Leadership members.
  • Conducts analysis and assessment of process optimizations, capital investments and acquisition integrations to realize synergies, savings, and efficiency to increase financial profitability and operational performance.
  • Optimizes strategies and initiatives related to service delivery, process improvement, financial reporting systems, and general group support.
  • Provides direction and governance of financial activities for acquisition integrations.
  • Manage and coordinate all government reporting activity including FAR and CAS compliance, and DCAA audit interface, coordination of submission and detail support as required by DCAA.
  • Provide written policy and procedure guidance to ensure compliance with government regulations.
  • Assists in the preparation of RFP responses, prepares financial model of expected opportunities and makes recommendations on pricing, terms and other conditions of the contract/bid.
  • Ensures optimization of cash utilization including: AR, billing and other processing functions in support of the Group.
This role is for you if you have these skills:
  • Solid management skills as a proven leader in recruiting, training and developing a high-performing finance team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships, outstanding interpersonal influencing qualities and a effective consultative style.
  • Proven knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Planning and analysis along with a strong strategic and operational understanding of higher-level business decision making.
  • Knowledge of Government cost accounting standards and FAR provisions.
  • Ability to clearly and consistently communicate in a timely and effective manner both verbally and in writing.
  • Infrastructure support experience including strategic thinking, relationship management, development of work processes, and solutions development.

And if you have these qualifications:

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience.
  • 15+ years of Financial experience in Government Contracting
  • Experience with M&A integration preferred
  • Experience with SAP preferred
  • CPA preferred
  • Up to 50% travel required.
  • Great attitude and team player.
  • Successful completion of background screening process.


In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the wage range for this role is $218,374 - $327,560. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
