Nexus-Indian Oaks is hiring on-call staff for our Youth Care Professional role!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The primary responsibility of our On-Call Youth Care Professional is to support and reinforce the individualized treatment plan for each youth. This role is crucial to the success of our organization just as your influence is crucial to the success of our youth. A typical day would include providing the following therapeutic services:

  • Ensure that residents adhere to daily schedules and activities established for the program, including school, therapy sessions, external appointments, etc.
  • Serve as a mentor and role model by demonstrating compassion and understanding for feelings, opinions and experience of others, and communicating and interacting in a manner that is honest, positive, respectful and professional
  • Ensure resident safety and collaborate with coworkers to maintain an environment that is positive, respectful, clean and therapeutic
  • Plan and participate in off-campus resident activities and assist in the transportation of client for home visits, doctor appointments, planned recreational activities, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Valid driver's license required (must meet state driving criteria and pass corporate eligibility standards)
  • Some previous related work experience preferred.

Schedule/Pay:

  • Flexible schedule
  • Hourly payrate offers starting at $17.80.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to assist staff in physical interventions and restraints of residents.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time (2-4 hours)
  • Must be able to twist, bend and stretch in a manner conducive to the execution of daily activities within a residential treatment facility
