GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Potbelly Sandwich Shop, celebrated for its delectable sandwiches and welcoming atmosphere, is in search of a seasoned Quality Engineer with a keen focus on manual and automated testing to ensure our web and mobile applications meet the highest quality standards. This critical role demands a balanced approach, with 60% dedication to manual testing techniques and 40% to automated testing, alongside the application of Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) methodologies.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the charge in manual QA testing for web platforms and native mobile applications, identifying and fixing defects to maintain impeccable quality standards, with a 60% focus on manual testing efforts.
  • Employ tools like BrowserStack for comprehensive cross-browser and cross-platform testing, ensuring flawless user experiences across all devices.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams to grasp requirements fully, aiming to assure the delivery of high-quality software that exceeds user expectations.
  • Conduct rigorous manual QA testing alongside automated testing efforts, accounting for 40% of the role, to identify and mitigate defects efficiently.
  • Integrate and manage robust testing protocols within CI/CD pipelines, with a preference for Azure DevOps, balancing manual and automated testing strategies.
  • Develop and implement detailed test plans and test cases for both manual and automated testing, ensuring extensive coverage and meticulous verification of all software facets.
  • Stay updated on the latest testing techniques and methodologies to continuously enhance both manual and automated testing processes.


REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Demonstrated expertise in manual software testing, supported by a strong foundation in Java, with a significant portion of experience dedicated to automated testing.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Quality Engineer, with a focus that encompasses both manual (60%) and automated (40%) testing strategies.
  • Proficiency in crafting detailed test plans, test cases, and test reports for both manual and automated testing activities.
  • Solid understanding of various testing types, including functional, regression, smoke, API, and performance testing, with an emphasis on manual and automated techniques.
  • Experience utilizing tools like BrowserStack for thorough cross-browser and cross-platform testing.


NICE TO HAVE
  • Additional experience with programming or scripting languages pertinent to test automation.
  • Exposure to a wider array of testing tools and frameworks, especially those designed for automation tasks.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience working within Agile environments.
