Position Summary

The Roller Shop Supervisor supervises Machine Operation of the shop employees in the Roller Shop department. Supports manufacturing and safety objectives.

Responsibilities
    Leads the daily work of the Machine Operation team, including scheduling staff, planning and assigning work, implementing policies and procedures, purchasing, and ensuring efficient workflow
  • Performs layouts and set-ups and does hands-on fabrication work as required
  • Reviews work for accuracy, neatness, and conformance to production guidelines and quality and safety standards
  • Provides training to new and existing employees
  • Assists the Plant Manager with selection and performance management of employees and recommending compensation
  • Recommends equipment upgrades, staffing adjustments, improvements in procedures and working conditions, and process modifications
  • Leads safety initiatives and improvements
  • Gives the team written and oral instructions
  • Standardizes procedures to improve efficiency
  • Employees are responsibleto complywith all requirements ofDaifuku'sQMS policies and procedures.
  • Employees are to ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfaction
Qualifications
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a steel fabrication environment
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience with steel fabrication
  • Knowledge of steel fabrication procedures, operation, and set-up of all equipment, reading and interpreting blueprints, and creating jigs and fixtures
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and 5S principles
  • Knowledge of quality principles
  • Computer skills
  • Supervisory skills
  • Ability to deal with conflicts and employee issues in a professional manner
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Team-oriented and collaborative
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • LOTO certification required
