Position Summary | Teach introductory biology courses to science, nursing, and allied health majors during Fall 2024 semester (August 19, 2024 -December 13, 2024). The University of St. Francis is a welcoming community of learners committed to enhancing diversity and equity. |
Essential Duties & Responsibilities | Adjuncts are responsible for course planning and instruction in classroom and/or laboratory settings. In addition, adjunct faculty are responsible for student evaluation, and timely and accurate submission of required paperwork related to instruction. |
Minimum Requirements | • Master of Science degree in related field • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position • Willingness to support the Catholic and Franciscan values of the university |
Preferred Requirements | • Prior experience teaching biology courses • Doctoral degree in related field |
Hours/Shift/Work Schedule | There is some flexibility based on availability; courses could be taught during the day (preferred) or evenings. All class are face-to-face with online support, and laboratories include hands-on and inquiry-based components. |
Physical Requirements of Position | Work is performed in classroom and laboratory settings with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards. Substantial time is spent working on a computer. This is sedentary work which requires the following physical activities: sitting, walking, bending, stooping, finger dexterity, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity. |
